The defense moves the strike Exhibit B of the prosecutions discovery, on the grounds that the government failed to authenticate the evidence. Exhibits from Discord are admissible evidence, so long as the submitting party “authenticate[s] identities through a client reload and display of Discord ID.” See Rid. R. Evid. 55(d). Neither the reload nor a display of Discord ID is shown in Exhibit B, thus violating the Ridgeway Rules of Evidence, and making it inadmissible in a court of law. By rule, Discord evidence must be authenticated before trial, not during trial, as was ruled in State of Ridgeway v. InfinityTurtleXD. If the evidence isn't authenticated, how can we confirm that it's really the complainant speaking, instead of inspect element? Discord evidence is quite easy to fake, which is the purpose of the authenticating rule, it's to ensure only real evidence gets admitted into court. This rule is one of the most important and practical rules in the rules of evidence, and it must be respected.
Therefore, the Court should accept this motion to strike Exhibit B submitted by the Government.
